Both boys are now telling me bye-bye when they are looking to get into something and I'm still in the room. They do it with a smirk. I feel like thanking them for the heads up.
When Jackson was visiting us last, he taught the boys a few new tricks. One of them was banging your hand on your head like "duh"! The other day, Mom explained to them that you only do that when you make a mistake. So this morning when we were laying in bed, Thomas fell back to sleep and when he woke again, he called out to me meanwhile I was right next to him so I cracked up. He realized what he had done, smiled and banged his head with his hand. Very cute.
This afternoon, the dogs barked after hearing a dog bark in the distance. Typically, if the dogs bark in the late afternoon, the boys ask "Daddy?" Well, when he was told it wasn't Daddy, he burst out crying calling for him. My first indication that they are missing their Daddy. He'll be home tomorrow evening!

About the pictures:
We've been grabbing a snack of peanut butter on a spoon lately, so Nathan is working on cleaning off his spoon. He looks so silly, I couldn't resist taking a picture! The boys were enjoying snuggling with Barbara at breakfast. Thomas found a hat which I've started to use on Nathan to keep the mosquitoes off his head. We had a quick visit from Don Bixby who was holding Thomas.
Sunday, Matt dropped Thomas and I off at Hannaford's while he took the car over to the ATM. When we came out of the store, I saw no sign of Matt. I asked Thomas where Daddy was and he pointed right at the car. Matt had parked in one of the rows and a few cars up so all we could see was the back end of the van. I couldn't believe Thomas picked the van out so quickly and pointed. Nothing wrong with his eyes! Meanwhile, Nathan slept through all of this. When we arrived home, Thomas climbed back in the van to say "Hi, Nay-nay" and to lift Nathan down from his carseat. The first time I've seen him do that. It was so loving and gentle.
This week, Matt is in Tuscan, Arizona. He left Sunday night and will return Friday night. Monday was quite the day! Let's see, it started first thing in bed. We were laying there(they come in to snuggle when they first wake up) and I had my back to the bedroom door. I heard Thomas leave and I assumed he went back to his bedroom for a blanket which they often do. A little while later, he comes and climbs back up on the bed and says "yum!". So I smell his breath and I can tell he's been snacking on the toddler toothpaste. I really don't know how much he ate, but the bottle still felt fairly heavy. I should of moved it to a higher place the night before because it was then I saw he could unscrew the top. Next we had Nathan "auto-graphing" our new family photo....the 8x10 one. As my sister pointed out, he had just seen me writing on the backside of another one. Then dear Nathan, sent the dog's water dish flying....hey the floor needed some attention! Finally, we setup a small pool in the back yard for the boys. I had filled it partially early in the morning with the hope the sun would warm it some for them. Later in the day, I went out to find them tossing in my alysum plants, so I fished them out. At that time I noticed some large clods of what appeared to be mud or dirt. I realized they had dumped the contents of my watering can out (in the pool?) which had chunks of old cow manure seeping in the bottom of it. Gross! I had to dump the pool out. As my mother pointed out, how were they to know cow manure from mud. My parents stopped in around 3:30 and things started looking brighter! We went out to dinner in Sterling and the boys had their first ice cream cones. I sent my camera to Tuscan so unfortunately didn't get any pictures of this, but they were a mess! They're all washable is my theory though.
Tuesday, we went down to Carver to Sara and Isabelle's house. They have a beautiful pond right around the corner from them. We spent 4 hours at that beach. They were at the Lake Huron beach last summer, but this year, they really dug in and even went in the water some on their own. It was very shallow. Nathan seemed to like to sit in the water right at the edge and dig in the sand. They waded in as deep as their hips. It helped that Isabelle was there doing the same thing. Several times we wished we had a camera. As we were leaving, Nathan was lagging behind, so Isabelle went back and led him out by the hand. Very cute!
This morning, when Thomas was talking to my mother, she asked him if he was being a good boy and he said "Um, Nay-nay" like if he was going to do any reporting it was going to be about Nathan. When I put Thomas on the phone to Matt this morning, he said "hello, how are you".

Those are Thomas's feet! He likes photography....
