Well, the address here was a little short-sighted... It did not anticipate the need to add an S! So....

Visits and swings

A lovely Monday morning visit from Barbara B.

Samuel trying out the swing. Where are his feet? He looks little here but I can't get over how fast he is growing. He is changing so much right now. I attempted to weigh him on our scale this morning and it registered 9 pounds exactly. His last doctor's visit at 2 weeks old, he weighed 8 lbs 2 oz.

A closer picture of his face....pursed lips...wonder what he is thinking of.

Nathan is so cute with Samuel. Every time Samuel cries and he isn't in my arms, Nathan takes it as a personal challenge to sooth him. Nathan finds the pacifier and does his best to keep it in Samuel's mouth. He still wants to hold him every chance he can.

3 Weeks Old

Just a couple of pictures of Samuel from yesterday and this morning to show him at three weeks. He sure seems tiny in the stroller. I was catching the end of a smile in that picture.

Cub Scouts

This picture was taken last Sunday after morning meeting at Roland's. We have a picture of Bruce holding the older boys....a few years back. The third older boy is Joey D. who is 1 year and a couple of months older.

We try to get a picture of the boys next to the Rose of Sharon every year but I think Irene washed most of the blooms away.

The boys at their first cub scout meeting. One of the things they like the most at this point is the uniform! We bought them on Friday and everyday they try them on.

Thomas next to the flag. The troop has some hikes planned for this fall. Monday night they had a paper airplane contest, did some coloring and generally got to know one another though I think all the boys are in the first grade at BMS.

Nathan next to the flag.

Samuel had his two week check-up last Friday. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 2 ounces. He passed his birth weight! The doctor said he was doing so well that I could let him sleep as long as he wants at night. The last several days, he has slept from 10pm to 4 or 5 AM! It's great! Today we go for pictures at JCP.

Our new addition

Headed to Emerson hospital....same as twins' birth, my water broke Thursday night, August 25. I was on the phone talking to the vet about putting our very old dog Doodle to sleep the next day when I stood up I knew my world had changed! Poor old Doodle died on his own the following night.

Just born, after 4 hours of labor which started about 6AM though I had contractions since 1AM. As soon as he arrived, Matt leaned down and whispered in my ear, it's a boy! Matt named him Samuel Charles. The name Charles is after Matt's maternal grandpa who was Keith Charles but went by Charlie.

Nathan holding Samuel for the first time the afternoon of his birth.

Thomas holding Samuel for the first time, same afternoon.

Heading home in the middle of hurricane Irene. After two of the three ways to our house were closed, I cried when we got to our driveway. I had visions of sitting at the town hall waiting for the roads to reopen.

Just home! Nathan loves to hold his little brother. Often asks, can I hold him? I try to let him whenever possible. No jealousy at all....they are fascinated and loving.

Thomas holding Samuel on his first day of school....notice Thomas' eyes...a little teary. He was sad that summer was over though when the bus came, he ran across the street with a smile on his face.

First day of school....waiting for the bus. Just a little cool out and as usual, buggy...so not much of Samuel showing.

First day of school...getting home. The boys have some difference this year from last. First they are in school full day and secondly, they are in separate classes. So far, all is well. They sit together at lunch and they play together at recess.

The napping house. Just getting used to this up at all hours business! I can't explain the cats though...lazy lumps! Guess what Thomas caught on our back porch yesterday....a mouse! The girls don't go out yet, they still need to get their rabies shot and then they will be in business.

Now I need some pictures with his eyes open! This boy is learning to sleep through anything! Nerf gun wars and more. Look at that adorable chin! His nose isn't as upturned as his brothers were. He loves his pacifier.
